British Independent Film Award
The British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) is a 1998 British film makers Called into life film award , which it has set itself the goal to honor achievements of British independent films to promote talent and the British independent film to make known to a wider audience . According to the company, the British Independent Film Awards were the first film prize in the world to give an award explicitly to producers. The Producer of the Year award was presented four times between 1998 and 2001. A breakthrough producer has been honored annually since 2016 .

British Independent Film Awards
Only films that have been shown in public in front of a paying audience are eligible for nomination to the British Independent Film Awards. This applies to regular screenings in the UK and to screenings at UK film festivals. The film must have been funded by at least two studios, with more than half of the cost coming from UK sources.
All submitted film contributions are first viewed by a BIFA Advisory Committee and then presented to the jury as suggestions for nomination.
The first BIFA trophy was designed by the sculptor Aron McCartney in 1998 and revised by Lindsay Henderson (Art for Glass) in 2001. It was presented until the 15th award ceremony (2012). A trophy designed by Studio Fredrikson Stallard and produced by D. Swarovski has been presented since 2013 .
Douglas Hickox Award
The Douglas Hickox Award is presented annually for the best debut film by a director. The prize pool is £ 500.
Special prize from the jury
The special prize of the jury (officially: The Filmfour Special Jury Prize) is awarded annually to a producer who, in the opinion of the jury, has shown extraordinary ability in the production of a film, regardless of its commercial success.
Raindance Award
The Raindance Award is intended to honor a film that was essentially made without public or commercial support and whose realization “despite all odds” demonstrates the director's visionary energy and artistic integrity.
Richard Harris Award
The Richard Harris Award has been presented annually since 2002 for outstanding performance as an actor. It was launched in memory of the life and work of Irish actor Richard Harris, who died in 2002 .
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Prize is awarded at irregular intervals to people who, in the opinion of the jury , have best represented the spirit of independent filmmaking in their entire career .
Variety Award
The Variety Award (officially: Variety UK Entertainment Personality Award) has been presented annually since 2001 as part of the BIFA awards ceremony. The award was donated by the entertainment industry journal Variety , a sponsor of BIFA.
