Jonathan Glazer
Jonathan Glazer (born October 21, 1965 in London , Great Britain ) is a British director of commercials , music videos and feature films .
Life
After studying theater design, he began as a theater director and produced film and television trailers . Over time, his music videos and commercials for Wrangler , Guinness , Levi's , as well as Barclays , Volkswagen and Stella Artois, among others , made him known to a wide audience. The video for Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity won three awards at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards : Best Video of the Year, Best Special Effects, and Best Breakthrough Video .
Glazer's 2000 feature film debut, Sexy Beast, starring Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley , who won various awards for his role in the film, received numerous positive reviews. His second film, Birth (2004), for which he was also one of the screenwriters , was also largely received positively. Nicole Kidman can be seen in the leading role . His third feature film followed in 2013 with the literary adaptation Under the Skin .
