Patrick George "Paddy" Considine (born September 5, 1973 in Burton-upon-Trent , Staffordshire ) is a British film actor , film director and screenwriter .

life and career

Considine grew up with five siblings in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. After high school, he took a high school performing arts course at Burton College , where he met Shane Meadows . With him he founded the band She talks to angels , where Considine was the drummer . Even before he finished his art class, Considine began studying photography at Brighton University . There he received an honorary degree, first class.

After finishing his studies and working on a short film with Meadows , Considine took on his first film role in 1999.

He presented his directorial debut with the 16-minute short film Dog Altogether . At the Venice International Film Festival in 2007 he was awarded the Silver Lion for best short film. His feature film debut Tyrannosaur - Eine Liebesgeschichte (2011) earned him the British Independent Film Award and the Director's Award of the Sundance Film Festival .

In April 2011, he announced that he had been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome . Two years later he was diagnosed with Irlen's syndrome , which affects the brain's perception of visual stimuli.

Considine is married and has one son.
