Emily Barclay (born October 24, 1984 in Plymouth , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Barclay made his debut on the New Zealand television series Shortland Street in 1998 . In the thriller No One Can Hear You (2001) she played the role of Amy Burchall , the daughter of reporter Trish Burchall ( Kelly McGillis ). In the drama When the Sea Disappeared (2004) she played one of the bigger roles, for which she won the British Independent Film Award and the New Zealand Screen Award in 2005. For the role in the Australian television-produced mystery film The Silence (2006), she was nominated for the Australian Film Institute Award in 2006.

Barclay took on the lead role in the Australian drama Suburban Mayhem (2006) as 19-year-old Katrina , who kills her own father. For this role she won the Australian Film Institute Award and an Australian IF Award in 2006 .

Barclay lives in New Zealand . She is committed to animal welfare and is vegan .
