Jamie Bell
Andrew James Matfin "Jamie" Bell (born March 14, 1986 in Billingham , County Durham , England ) is a British actor . He had his most famous roles in the films Billy Elliot - I Will Dance (2000), King Kong (2005), Jumper (2008) and The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn (2011).
Life
Jamie Bell was born to Eileen Matfin and toolmaker John Bell. The father left the family before he was born. He comes from a family that has produced many dancers, including his grandmother, mother, sister and aunt. He himself started dancing at Northfield School at the age of six .
In 1998 he made his debut in the play Bugsy Malone in London . During the casting for the film Billy Elliot , Bell was able to prevail against around 2000 other boys, got the lead role and delighted audiences and critics alike with his performance. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and received a total of 48 film awards worldwide between 2000 and 2002. In retrospect, he saw director Stephen Daldry as something like a father substitute, since he had never met his birth father.
In the following years Bell starred in the 2002 film adaptation of Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby . In 2005 he stood for Peter Jackson's adventure film King Kong as a cabin boy Jimmy and 2008 in the science fiction - action film Jumper in the role of Griffin on camera. From January to March 2009, the filming took Steven Spielberg's comic book adaptation The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn ( The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn ) held in the Bell in the title role embodies. In 2013, Jamie Bell starred in Bong Joon-Ho's science fiction drama Snowpiercer, alongside Tilda Swinton and Chris Evans . In the film Fantastic Four (2015) by Josh Trank , Bell embodies "Das Ding" Ben Grimm .
Private life
In the music video Wake Me Up When September Ends by the band Green Day , Bell can be seen as an American soldier, his girlfriend plays Evan Rachel Wood . The two had previously met at the Sundance Film Festival and were a couple from 2005 to 2006. In the summer of 2011 they got together again and married on October 30, 2012. The couple's first son was born on July 29, 2013, but in May 2014 the two announced their renewed separation. Bell has been married to fellow actress Kate Mara since July 2017 . In 2019 the two parents had a daughter.
