Andrew Whitehurst is a British special effects artist and VFX supervisor .

Life

Whitehurst began his career as a special effects artist in the 2000s. He made his debut in 2003 as Technical Director of the action film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life . 2004-2005 he worked for Framestore to Hollywood - blockbusters Troy , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . He first worked as a VFX supervisor for the British science fiction film Ex Machina . For the film, he received the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2016 along with Sara Bennett , Paul Norris and Mark Williams Ardington . He was also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award and the Saturn Award .
