Paul Norris is a special effects artist .
Life
Norris began his career in the late 1990s and made his feature film debut with David Nutter's horror film We'll get you too! starring James Marsden and Katie Holmes . He subsequently also worked for television and worked on five episodes of the miniseries The Tenth Kingdom and three episodes of the miniseries Dinotopia . He worked as a special effects artist on major film productions, including Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings , which Marvel - superhero films Thor - The Dark Kingdom and Avengers: Age of Ultron and the James Bond film James Bond 007 - Die Another Day .
In 2016 he won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for Alex Garland's science fiction film Ex Machina, along with Andrew Whitehurst , Mark Williams Ardington and Sara Bennett . In the same year they were also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Visual Effects .
