British Independent Film Awards 2015
The 18th British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) took place on December 6, 2015 at Old Billingsgate in London . It was moderated by the actor , stand-up comedian and director Richard Ayoade .
With four awards, Ex Machina by director Alex Garland was the most successful film at this award. The British science fiction film won awards for best film, for best director and best screenplay (Alex Garland), and for best visual effects.
Although it was nominated seven times, the British production The Lobster could only win the award for best supporting actress ( Olivia Colman ). The six-time nominated British drama Macbeth by Justin Kurzel with Michael Fassbender (nominated for best actor) and Marion Cotillard (nominated for best actress) did not receive an award.
