Swi Tong Corporation is a former automobile manufacturer from the Republic of China (Taiwan) .

Company history

The company was founded in 1956 in Tainan . The production of automotive accessories such as brakes and clutches began. Rickshaws were added in the 1960s , and automobiles in 1981. The brand name was Sui Tong according to two sources , and Cub according to another source . There was a collaboration with Convenient Machines Inc. from New York , who offered the model in the USA . The plan was to produce 10,000 vehicles a year. Automobile production ended around 1984.

Rickshaws emerged from the 1960s.

The Cub model appeared in 1981. This was a tricycle with a single front wheel. The rear wheels were partially covered. The closed body with two side doors and a large tailgate was made of fiberglass and offered space for two people. An air-cooled single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 400 cm³ enabled a top speed of 80 km / h.

The Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum held a vehicle called the Cub Commuter .
