Romola Sadie Garai (born August 6, 1982 in Hong Kong , British Crown Colony ) is a British actress .

life and career

Garai - who has Jewish and Hungarian ancestors - grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong , among others .

Originally discovered as a singer and musician , Garai started her feature film career in 2000 with the television film The Legendary Blonde Bombshells . In the award-winning drama , she acted alongside Judi Dench , Leslie Caron and Olympia Dukakis . There were other roles like in cinema productions on both sides of the Atlantic , including historical films as Nicholas Nickleby (2002), as well as contemporary dramas like Inside I'm Dancing (2004), in which it the object of desire of a spastic paralyzed young people - played by Steven Robertson - mimes.
