The London scientist Adam Hitchens moves to a remote region of Ireland with his wife Clare and their baby. He is supposed to do research in the forest for the entrepreneur Paul Williams. Clare devotes himself to the preparation of the new family home.

The local residents are not enthusiastic about Adam's work, as there are supposedly demonic creatures living in the forest, which must not be disturbed. Her strange neighbor Colm warns her about the vengeful forest spirits. Regardless of the warning, the family is increasingly comfortable in their new home. It is only when the strange events roll over that Adam and Clare realize that something is after their child's life.
