Screamfest Horror Film Festival
The Screamfest Horror Film Festival has been held annually in Los Angeles since 2001 . It is an important genre -specific film festival that focuses on horror film , fantasy film and thriller . For the most part, US productions are presented, but there are also more and more international participants to be found. Films in a number of categories are awarded the Skull Award .

The festival was brought into being by the documentary filmmaker Rachel Belofsky, who is also the director. The now deceased multiple Oscar winner Stan Winston and Brad Miska later joined the organization .
The festival initially took place on a small scale in a hall of a film production company, but soon moved to Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood and in recent years has also taken place at Regal Cinemas LA Live Stadium 14 in Los Angeles.
