Brendan Gleeson
Brendan Gleeson (born March 29, 1955 in Dublin ) is an Irish actor .
Life
Gleeson worked in Ireland as an English and acting teacher until he got his first offer for the film The Field in 1990 at the age of 34 .
After many supporting roles, he achieved his international breakthrough with the film Braveheart alongside Mel Gibson . Since then he has been seen regularly in lavish Hollywood films, but he also shoots repeatedly in Europe. Gleeson played the role of the historical Martin Cahill at the side of Jon Voight in Boormans The General . With his role in the Harry Potter films from part 4 ( Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ) as Auror Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, he also opened up to younger audiences. In 2009 he was seen for the lead role in Bruges ... and die? (2008) nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Comedy Actor together with his co-actor Colin Farrell . Gleeson received his first Emmy in 2009 for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the television movie Into the Storm . In 2016 he received the acting award Die Europa at the Braunschweig International Film Festival .
Brendan Gleeson has been married to Mary Gleeson since 1982 and has four sons. The couple live in Malahide . With one of his sons, Domhnall Gleeson , he stood for the films Bounty - Perrier's Bounty , Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and On Sunday You're Dead together in front of the camera.
