Far and Away (Original title: Far and Away ) is an American movie from 1992. It was directed by Ron Howard , the writer wrote Bob Dolman and Ron Howard. The main roles were played by Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman .
action
The action takes place in the late 1880s. Poor Joseph Donnelly, who lives in Ireland, accuses landowner Daniel Christie of being responsible for his father's death. With the aim of murdering Christie, he leaves his two brothers and his home village. Inexperienced in the use of weapons and armed with an old rifle, he rides a donkey to the castle of the Christies. He hides in the Christie's horse stable and is discovered by their daughter Shannon. She hurts him with a pitchfork. Joseph then makes one last attempt to shoot Daniel Christie and injures himself with his own gun when the shot backfires. The Christies take care of Joseph so that he can be handed over to the police in good health. Shannon Christie shows an apparent interest in the young man. The Christies 'steward, Stephen, who previously burned down the Donnellys' house, also appears at a tea party. He is the suitor and future husband of Shannon. He is attacked by Joseph and Stephen challenges him to a duel. On the morning of the duel, Shannon saves Joseph from certain death and escapes with him. In Boston , Shannon loses the valuables brought from Ireland. She shares a room with Joseph, but continues to be condescending to him.
