The Smurfs

The Smurfs 2 (Original title: The Smurfs 2 ) is an American 3D film from 2013 and continuation of the first part released in 2011, The Smurfs , as well as the first part directed by Raja Gosnell . Another film appeared in 2017 with The Smurfs - The Lost Village .

The evil magician Gargamel creates the two smurfy but naughty creatures Hauie (in the English version Hackus , spoken by JB Smoove ) and Zicky (in the English original Vexy , spoken by Christina Ricci ), called the Lümmel (in the original: Naughties ) to get the magical Smurf essence. When he realizes that only a real Smurf can fulfill his wish, he kidnaps Smurfette to Paris , where he has celebrated his greatest success as a magician and, with the help of the Smurf essence , he wants to use the Eiffel Tower as a gigantic antenna to return. Smurfette knows the formula with which living beings can be transformed into Smurfs, as Papa Smurf used it on her. While the naughty louts try to win the Smurfette on their side, Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Muffi and Beauty set out into the human world to save Smurfette.

Production and publication

The film was produced by Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures in 2013 and directed by Raja Gosnell . The music was composed by Heitor Pereira and Sabrina Plisco was responsible for the editing .

The film premiered on July 31, 2013; the German release was on August 1, 2013.

In 2013, 2,509,996 visitors were counted at the German box offices nationwide, making the film the 10th most visited films of the year.
