Fred Armisen
Fereydun Robert "Fred" Armisen (born December 4, 1966 in Hattiesburg , Mississippi ) is an American actor , comedian and musician .
Life
Fereydun R. Armisen was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Shortly after he was born, his family moved to Manhattan, where he grew up in Valley Stream , Long Island . His mother Hildegardt is a primary school teacher and comes from Venezuela, while his father worked at IBM and is of German and Korean descent. He studied at the New York School of Visual Arts , which he gave up in favor of drumming.
The first attempts as a musician with his high school friends failed. He moved from New York to Chicago in 1988 and played in the punk rock band Trenchmouth as a drummer. In 1990 he was part of the Blue Man Group as a drummer . In 2007 he played three tracks as a drummer on Les Savy Favs Let's Stay Friends .
Armisen was married to the English singer and songwriter Sally Timms from 1998 to 2004 . From 2009 to 2011 he was married to the actress and self-confessed Scientologist Elisabeth Moss . He himself claimed to be an atheist . He has been in a relationship with actress Natasha Lyonne since 2014 .
