Boog is looking forward to the boys' trip planned with his friends, but the day before, several friends turn him down. When his best friend Elliot cancels due to obligations to his family, there is no one left and he goes on the trip alone with his teddy bear Mr. Dinkleman, disappointed. When he sees a poster of the Maslova Family Circus and discovers other bears on it, he decides to make new friends there. In the circus he meets the grizzly Doug, the female grizzly Ursa and the lama Alistair. Doug takes the chance to swap roles with Boog and finally get free. In addition, he pretends to Boog that he will return the next day, they will become friends and go on a bear trip together. In fact, Doug stays in the forest and pretends to be Boog. Meanwhile, Boog falls in love with Ursa at the circus. When Boog's friends find out that the bear in the forest is not Boog, they make their way to the circus to free their friend. Doug regrets his behavior and returns to the circus, and Boog can persuade Ursa to live with him in the forest. Finally Boog and his friends go on their boys trip.
