Crispin Hellion Glover (born April 20, 1964 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor . He was best known for his role as George McFly in Back to the Future .

life and career

The blockbuster 3 Angels for Charlie , along with Back to the Future and Alice in Wonderland, is one of his few forays into mainstream cinema. In the two sequels of Back to the Future , Glover no longer played because he could not agree with the producers about the fee. Otherwise, Crispin Glover mainly focuses on small supporting roles or projects in the independent sector, but also works with well-known directors such as David Lynch , Jim Jarmusch , Robert Zemeckis and Tim Burton . In 2012 , he made a cameo in the movie 7 Psychos in the Courtroom Scene. He also created, as a director and screenwriter with the film What Is It? quite an idiosyncratic film debut as most of the roles in this surreal film were played by people with Down syndrome .

Glover also made film history with a lawsuit against Steven Spielberg , who had used archive material with Glover as a producer in the first sequel to Back to the Future without his consent. He was right and set a precedent in the United States.

In 2012 he started the Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show Tour with his father, actor Bruce Glover .
