Reviews

Janet Maslin wrote in the New York Times on May 8, 1987 that the film was bitter and disturbing. Tim Hunter has a feel for the aimlessly behaving characters of teenagers, which he understands. These empty figures in the middle are similar to those from the novel Unter Null by Bret Easton Ellis . Most representations would look natural and believable - including those by Daniel Roebuck, Keanu Reeves, and Ione Skye.

Film-Dienst wrote that the "disillusioning" film showed "the failure of the" American dream "" and sketched "a hopeless picture of the future" . Some moments are "tormenting" ; nevertheless, the film is "a serious contribution about young people in modern society" .

Awards

Tim Hunter was in 1987 for the Grand Jury Prize of the Sundance Film Festival nominated.
