Frederick Elmes , also known as Fred Elmes or Fredrick Elmes (born November 4, 1946 in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey ), is an American cameraman and member of the ASC

Life

Frederick Elmes studied photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology and finished his film studies at the American Film Institute (AFI) in 1972. He then studied at New York University . During his time at AFI he met David Lynch in 1971 , for whom he directed the films Eraserhead , Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart - The Story of Sailor and Lula as a cameraman .
