The castle Vorst , including Castle Vorst or forest is called a hilltop castle on a small 350 meter high rock hill on the right bank of the Adige in Lagundo in South Tyrol .
The castle was built in the late 13th century. Around 1302 it was under the administration of Ulrich von Vorst, a Tyrolean ministerial . After his death in 1311 Albert von Gomion gave her a fief. From then on he called himself Albert von Vorst. His widow Floridiana married Wilhelm von Enn in 1338. As a result, the castle came into the possession of the Lords of Starkenberg . These belonged to the elephant union ; when this was subjugated by Friedrich IV , Burg Vorst was expropriated from them. From 1519 to 1860 it was owned by the Brandis family . Today the castle belongs to the Fuchs family, who also own the nearby Forst brewery . Vorst Castle cannot be visited.
