Tony Grubhofer
Tony Grubhofer (born February 8, 1854 in Innsbruck . Austrian Empire ; † May 4, 1935 ibid) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .
Life
Tony Grubhofer studied at the Royal School of Applied Arts in Munich with Michael Echter and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Eduard Lichtenfels . After graduating, he went on a study trip through the countries of Europe. In the 1880s he lived in Munich .
In 1901 he worked for the London illustrated magazine for fine and applied arts "The Studio". Appointed director of the Bolzano City Museum in 1906 , he also designed the furnishings for the newly built museum . He also directed the technical school for handicrafts in Bolzano . In 1913 he took over the management of the state trade school in Innsbruck and became head of the university drawing courses.
