Katzenzungen Castle near Prissian

Katzenzungen Castle is a castle near Prissian (municipality of Tesimo ) in South Tyrol . The oldest parts of the complex date back to the 12th century. What is certain is that it was mentioned in 1244. In the 16th century, the facility was massively rebuilt, which means that all components are now under one roof. A wreath of machicolation surrounds the complex. A coat of arms of the Breisach from 1548 above the arched gate.

Right next to Katzenzungen Castle is the Versoaln vine, one of the oldest in the world.
