Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times that the film could be described as a "hit parade" or as "the first MTV version of the opera". The film is mainly fun as "a satire on yourself".

Lexicon of international film : “The result is a series of screamingly colorful“ opera clips ”, which only rudimentarily encourages an examination of the fascinating artificiality of operas. The original intention is all too uninspired and presented without musical differentiations, so that occasionally even boredom sets in. "
