Tony Lawson

Tony Lawson (* 1944 in London ) is a British film editor .

Life

Lawson began his career in film editing in the 1960s as an assistant editor. In 1971 he was jointly responsible for the assembly of a movie for the first time at Wer Macht sät together with his co-editors Roger Spottiswoode and Paul Davies ; thereafter his career gained momentum. In total, he was involved in more than 35 productions.

Since 1980 he has worked closely with director Nicolas Roeg . Their last film together was Two Deaths from 1995. Since Michael Collins from 1996 Lawson has been responsible for the editing of all Neil Jordan films. They last worked together in 2012 at Byzantium , which is also Lawson's last film production to date (as of August 2019).
