Made in USA is a French film directed by Jean-Luc Godard from the year 1966 and is loosely based on various classic American gangster films, including The Big Sleep , and on the book The Jugger by Donald E. Westlake . As Westlake filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in the US, the film was only shown there in 2009. It is also the last Godard film in which Anna Karina played the leading role.

Paula Nelson wants to meet her boyfriend Richard in Atlantic City, but learns that he was murdered. She tries to find out the background to the murder and to find the perpetrator. She meets many gangsters in the process.
Reviews
The New York Times called the film in a critique from 2009 "Although not the biggest hits of Godard, but still a great B-side." On Rotten Tomatoes , he held early 2020 audience rating of 60% and a critic rating of 84%.
