David Sinclair is one of the most gifted and popular students in his high school . When David suddenly commits suicide, the shock runs deep. Especially David's best friend Chris Townsend torments himself with self-reproach. Headmaster Verdell wants to tear Chris out of his depression and puts him in charge of the school rock band. But soon he is confronted with the same problems that David had before.
