Michelle Murdocca

Michelle Murdocca (born September 20, 1963 ) is an American film producer . The animated film series Hotel Transylvania is one of her best-known productions .

Murdocca is from New City, New York . She is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island , with a degree in psychology . She began her career in 1988 producing commercials, documentaries, industrial films and corporate videos. For Boss Film Studios , she led the production of digital effects for the films Species , Multiplicity, Outbreak , True Lies and Drop Zone . From 1996 she worked for the production company VIFX (later Rhythm & Hues ). There she produced the visual effects for Das Relikt and Switchback, as well as pre-production for Volcano , Jingle All the Way and the three-part television series The Shining .

Michelle Murdocca joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1998 , where she worked on the animated film Stuart Little . She then became Associate Producer and Senior Visual Effects Producer for the sequel Stuart Little 2 , which received the Visual Effects Society Award for best character animation in an animated film.

When she founded Sony Pictures Animation in 2002, she held the position of vice president of production there. As a producer she was responsible for the first feature film by the company Jagdfieber (original title: Open Season ), in which she also took over the singing part of the skunk Maria. The successor Jagdfieber 2 ( Open Season 2 ) was also produced by her.

Michelle Murdocca recently produced the Sony Pictures animation films Hotel Transylvania , its successor Hotel Transylvania 2 and Hotel Transylvania 3 - A Monster Vacation , as well as the franchise short film Goodnight Mr. Foot.
