Rhythm & Hues Studios was a Los Angeles- based visual effects company founded in 1987 by former employees of Robert Abel and Associates . In addition to the headquarters, the company had offices in Mumbai , Hyderabad , Kuala Lumpur , Vancouver and Kaohsiung .

In 1996 Rhythm & Hues Studios received an Oscar for the visual effects in A Pig Called Babe . They have also worked on films such as Daredevil , Garfield , Scooby-Doo , Cats & Dogs - Wie Hund und Katz and Ein Kater macht Theater . In 2005, among other things, they were responsible for portraying the character Aslan and the mass battles in The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia with the help of the Massive program .

In addition to films, the Rhythm & Hues Studios produce effects for advertisements. Rhythm & Hues is involved in the development of CinePaint .

A few days after winning the BAFTA award for the computer-animated tiger in Ang Lee's Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger in February 2013, Rhythm & Hues had to file for bankruptcy.
