Mia Gypsy Mello Da Silva Goth (born November 30, 1993 in London ) is a British  actress and model .

life and career

Goth was born in November 1993 as the daughter of a Canadian and a Brazilian in the borough of Southwark , London . Her maternal grandparents are artist Lee Jaffe and actress Maria Gladys . As a young child, Goth moved with her family to Rio de Janeiro , where her grandmother often took her to filming. This is how she came into contact with the film industry for the first time. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Canada and eventually, when Goth was twelve, back to London. At the age of 13 she was discovered by the modeling agency Storm Model Management and started working as a model.

Goth had her first film role in the erotic drama Nymphomaniac (2013) by Lars von Trier at the age of 20. In the German-American mystery thriller A Cure for Wellness (2016) by Gore Verbinski , Goth was finally seen in a leading role alongside Dane DeHaan .

In 2018 Goth was seen in two films. In the Italian-American horror film Suspiria by Luca Guadagnino , she played the role of Sara. In the science fiction adventure film High Life by director Clarie Denis , she was seen in the role of Boyse .

Goth's most highly acclaimed role to date is likely that of the kind-hearted Harriett Smith in Autumn de Wilde's remake of Jane Austen's classic Emma , opposite Anya Taylor-Joy , Johnny Flynn and Josh O'Connor .
