Josh O'Connor (born May 20, 1990 in Cheltenham ) is a British film actor .

Life

Josh O'Connor was born in 1990 in the English seaside resort of Cheltenham . He took acting classes at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School . He completed this training in 2011. He made his actor debut in 2012 in an episode of the television series Lewis - The Oxford Crime . In the same year he got a small role in the film The Eschatrilogy: Book of the Dead .

In 2015, O'Connor starred in Stephen Frears ' doping drama about Lance Armstrong , The Program . O'Connor played Donaghy in the 2016 film Florence Foster Jenkins .

In the film, God's Own Country by Francis Lee , who in January 2017 at the Sundance Film Festival premiered in February 2017 of the Panorama section of the Berlinale celebrated its premiere in Germany, O'Connor took over the lead role of homosexual sheep farmer Johnny Saxby. Because Lee wanted his film to be as authentic as possible, O'Connor did physical labor on various farms for weeks in preparation for his role. This work ranged from lambing to dry stone walls . The new job would become second nature to him, and O'Connor stayed in touch with one of the farmers even after filming was over.

In the third season of the television series The Crown , O'Connor took on the role as Prince Charles .
