Another program
Climate Change Lab
In the newly established climate section of the festival, only films and film projects that deal with the environment and how to deal with it sustainably are presented. The main question here is whether a cooperation between environmentalists and filmmakers can help to create a public on the topic of climate change, the role of which has so far been discussed marginally in films and so far mainly in the world of documentary and independent films. The Sundance Institute had noticed that, with a few notable exceptions, there was surprisingly little work on climate change. The projects and films presented as part of the Climate Change Lab include a sequel to An Inconvenient Truth , the opening film of the Sundance Film Festival 2017, the following others:
- Plastic China - D: Jiuliang Wang
- El Buzo ( The Diver - D: Esteban Arrangoiz )
Panel: Music & Film - The Creative Process
The BMI Foundation is organizing a round table with film composers and directors as part of the Sundance Film Festival. The panel takes place under the heading Music & Film - The Creative Process . The event is scheduled for January 24, 2017 and is scheduled to take place at the Festival's Base Camp in Park City. The event will be moderated by Doreen Ringer-Ross . Panelists include director of the Sundance Institute film music program, Peter Golub , his advisor George S. Clinton , film composers such as Greg Tripi , Tyler Strickland , H. Scott Salinas and Matthew Atticus Berger, and directors such as Mark Palansky , Michael Barnett , Matthew Heineman , Kief Davidson and Pedro Kos , with whom the film composers had previously worked.
TV Shows
As part of the Sundance Film Festival 2017, in addition to films, TV series and mini- series were increasingly presented, some of which celebrated their world premieres there, were integrated into the individual sections and whose performances were accompanied by Q & As.
