Ingrid Goes West is an American tragic comedy by Matt Spicer that premiered on January 20, 2017 at the Sundance Film Festival and was released in US cinemas on August 4, 2017.
action
All the mentally deranged Ingrid Thorburn wants are friends, and the only way she knows to get them is online through apps like Instagram and in an environment where people base their self-esteem on likes . Sometimes she looks for her “friends”, whose lives she follows on the Internet, in real life, too, according to Charlotte, at whose wedding she shows up after learning about it on Instagram and attacks the bride with pepper spray because she does not look up the guest list was. Like most of her friends, Charlotte doesn't even know the stalker.
After spending time in a mental hospital, Ingrid begins searching for a new Best Friend Forever and stumbles upon an article about Taylor Sloane in a glossy magazine. She is so obsessed with the social media star that she abandons everything in order to move closer to her idol in Venice Beach. Ingrid believes Taylor has a perfect life. Ingrid's behavior is troubling, and she is becoming increasingly dangerous.
