Virgil Williams

Virgil Williams is an American screenwriter and producer of television series and films. Together with Dee Rees , Williams was nominated for an Oscar at the 2018 Academy Awards for the adaptation of the novel of the same name for their film Mudbound .

Life

Williams began working as a screenwriter for the television series 24 , moved to the television series Emergency Room in 2005 , and wrote the scripts for a total of 18 episodes of the television series Criminal Minds from 2011 to 2017 .

For the film Mudbound by Dee Rees , Williams wrote the first screenplay for a film. Williams was also an executive producer for this. Together with Rees, Williams was nominated for an Oscar at the 2018 Academy Awards for the adaptation of the novel of the same name.

In late June 2018, Williams became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
