Sônia Maria Campos Braga (born June 8, 1950 in Maringá , Paraná ) is a Brazilian actress . She had her breakthrough in Brazil with the film adaptation of Jorge Amado's novel Gabriela like cinnamon and cloves as a telenovela in 1975 - the TV show was a street sweeper at the time .
