From Dusk Till Dawn 3 is the 1999 prequel of the cult film From Dusk Till Dawn and its successor From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money . This third part, with the subtitle The Hangman's Daughter , was released (like part 2) only on video cassette and DVD ; in Germany, however, only in June 2004. In terms of plot, it is set about 100 years before the original. The film tells of the origins of some of the vampire characters that are largely known from From Dusk Till Dawn .

In 1913, the American journalist and writer Ambrose Bierce is on his way to join the revolutionary Pancho Villa . In a small Mexican town in the state of Chihuahua , he witnessed the events surrounding Johnny Madrid, a local robber chief who, with the help of Cathrine Reece, who would like to become his pupil, can escape his waiting executioner - and on top of that takes his beautiful daughter Esmeralda with him. Madrid and Esmeralda share an insecure love affair. Under the direction of the executioner, the mob then hunted down the escaped bandit and his gang. On the advice of Reeces, they in turn attacked Bierce's carriage and the devout couple Newlie. Despite the disappointment that Bierce has nothing of value with him, they let the three - and Reece - live. A short time later, however, Madrid is so annoyed by the young outlaw that he hangs them up. However, some time later she is rescued by the hangman's mob. Little by little , all the protagonists arrive in the sanctuary of the vampire queen Quixtla . The vampire wants to transform Esmeralda into the half-being princess Santanico Pandemonium , which she succeeds after a long fight in which the Newlies, the hangman and most of the outlaws die. Nevertheless, Bierce and Madrid seem to be able to flee.
