action
Four crooks from Texas are planning a robbery with the help of a supposedly well-informed local circumstances accomplice Mexico's National Bank . However, it they are a sheriff , some FBI - agents and give back exactly those " insider " - an accomplice in the way, which after a visit in the near Etablissement Titty Twister into a vampire has changed.
History of origin
After seeing Scott Spiegel's film Bloodnight , Bob Weinstein turned to the horror veteran a few days after the premiere of From Dusk Till Dawn to give him the chance to write and direct a sequel to the horror hit. Spiegel then developed a story together with Boaz Yakin and submitted it to Quentin Tarantino , Robert Rodriguez and Bob Weinstein. He got the promise to write a script based on this book. After Tarantino saw the film Stripteaser (Book: Duane Whitaker ), he decided to merge Whitaker with Spiegel for the project.
The original concept was for a completely different beginning of the plot . This also included Seth and Richard Gecko from the first part, who are in possession of the plans of a Mexican bank that they want to rob with the protagonists from Texas Blood Money . Seth Gecko, who escaped the Titty Twister massacre, is shot dead by the authorities on camera. There is no trace of Richie at first. So the gang goes to the Titty Twister , hoping to track down Richie Gecko there, while the FBI is already on their heels through Seth. When they reach their destination, they are attacked by Richie and a pack of vampires. When the FBI appears, they can escape to a motel, where they want to revise their plans. One of the robbers, however, was bitten by a vampire and turns his partners into bloodsuckers in turn. The rest of the story is largely the same as the version that was ultimately produced.
Quentin Tarantino himself resisted the involvement of Richie Gecko, because he already died in the first part - so the script was changed accordingly.
Prequel
In 2000 , the prequel From Dusk Till Dawn 3 - The Hangman's Daughter was created , now directed by PJ Pesce .
