Scott Spiegel (born December 24, 1957 in Walnut Lake , Michigan ) is an American director , screenwriter , actor and film producer .

Life

Scott Spiegel was born on December 24, 1957 in Walnut Lake, Michigan. In his youth he made his first own films with his school friends Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell . He attended West Maple Jr. High School and Whylie E. Groves High School in Birmingham , Michigan.

He made his film debut in 1977 as an actor in Sam Raimi 's It's Murder . He then starred in the short films Shemp Eates the Moon, Within the Woods and Clockwork . In 1981 he played a small role in Dance of the Devils .

In 1981 Spiegel made his directorial debut with the short film Torro. Torro. Torro! . In the same year he also directed the short film project Attack of the Helping Hand! . In 1982 he worked on Cleveland Smith: Bounty Hunter (short film). In 1985 he made his screenplay debut with Strykers' War and wrote the script for Tanz der Teufel II - Now there is even more dancing . He also took over his role from the first part again. In 1989 he made his feature film directing debut with the slasher film Bloodnight and wrote the screenplay for Mörderischer Errtum . He also appeared in the films The Dead Next Door and Robot Ninja .

In 1990 Spiegel worked on five different projects. He took on roles as an actor in the works Skinned Alive , Leon , Darkman and The Girl I Want . He also wrote the script with Boaz Yakin for Clint Eastwood's film Rookie: The Beginner with Charlie Sheen . In 1992 he developed the story and directed The Totally Fucked Nut with Traci Lords . In 1993 he took on a speaking role in the short film Red . He was an actor in Faster than Death from 1995. Also in 1995 he made the films Wild Malibu Weekend! and nude bowling party . He then starred in In the Clutches of Madness . In 1999 he took on the roles of screenwriter and director in From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money, produced by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino .

In 2002 and 2004 he had small guest appearances in Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 . In 2005 he produced Maniacs in 2001 and worked on this film for the first time as an assistant director . He also produced Hostel in 2005 and its sequel Hostel 2 from 2007. In 2008 he had a role in Babysitter Wanted and 2009 in Drag Me to Hell .

In 2010 he wrote the script for the short film Facing the Lion . In this work he acted for the first time as a film editor . In 2011 he took over the direction of Hostel 3 with Thomas Kretschmann .
