Boaz Yakin

Boaz Yakin (born June 20, 1966 in New York City ) is an American director , screenwriter and film producer of Israeli origin.

Career

Boaz Yakin is a son of Israeli-American drama teachers Moni Yakim and Mina Yakin . He began his work as a screenwriter in 1989 with the screenplay for The Punisher . A year later he wrote the screenplay for Rookie . In 1994 he made his debut as a director with the drama Fresh . Here, too, he was involved as an author. At the Sundance Film Festival he won a prize for this work.

In 2000 he made Against All Rule followed by Uptown Girls in 2003. He co-wrote From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money (1999) and Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights (2004) as a screenwriter .

As a film producer he participated in 2001 Maniacs , as an executive producer he worked on Hostel 2 .

In 2010 the computer game adaptation Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was released , in which he is also involved as a screenwriter. 2012 his new film appeared safe - Todsicher ( Safe ) with Jason Statham in the lead role, in which he wrote the screenplay and directed.

Yakin was married to the Israeli music video director Alma Har'el .
