Bob Murawski
Bob Murawski (born June 14, 1964 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American film editor and Oscar winner.
Life
After graduating from high school in Bad Ax , Murawski successfully studied at Michigan State University with a major in telecommunications . Inspired by an internship in the Detroit film scene, he soon moved to Los Angeles and trained as an editor. Initially working as an assistant editor for several low-budget films , including Sam Raimi 's film Darkman , Sam Raimi's next film Army of Darkness (1992), in which Murawski was one of the three film editors, marked the beginning of an ongoing collaboration with the director.
In addition to working for Sam Raimi for many years, Murawski also worked on productions for numerous other directors. In the same year he was able to cut for Quentin Tarantino's film Reservoir Dogs - Wild dogs do not accept, because it already for Hong Kong action film director John Woo the cut for the first American production Hard Target had promised. Other films included: The Night of the Crow (1995), From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money (1999) and Deadly Command - The Hurt Locker (2008). For the latter film by Kathryn Bigelow , Murawski and his editing partner Chris Innis received several awards and nominations, including the Eddie Award , the BAFTA Award , the Boston Society of Film Critics Award and an Oscar for Best Editing .
The collaboration with Chris first came about while working on the American TV series American Gothic , which was produced by Sam Raimi. In the meantime, both are not only editing partners, but also married.
Both became known to a broad audience through the editing of the Spider-Man trilogy, for which Murawski was also nominated for Best Editing at the Satellite Awards .
Murawski ran the rental company Grindhouse Releasing and his own company Box Office Spectaculars together with Sylvester Stallone's now deceased son , Sage Stallone . There he is responsible for the restoration and digital processing of Italo cult horror films such as The Revenge of the Cannibals (1981), Cannibal Holocaust - Naked and Mangled (1980) and The Rabid (1971).
