Álvaro Rodríguez is a screenwriter , composer and actor, and the cousin of director Robert Rodriguez with whom he works frequently.

Career

Rodríguez attended St. Anthony's High School in San Antonio , Texas . He has degrees in English and Literature from the University of Texas and the University of Houston . In 1992 he made his first steps in the film business and worked as a composer on Robert Rodriguez's feature- length debut El Mariachi . He then continued his composing activity in 1996 in the film Pain Flower . In 1999 he made his screenwriting debut in the independent film Allied Forces .

A year later he worked as a screenwriter and assistant director on the film From Dusk Till Dawn 3 - The Hangman's Daughter, produced by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino . In 2008 and 2010 he worked as an actor in the films Perro come Perro and Todos tus Muertos . In 2010 he co-wrote the script for the action film Machete with Robert Rodriguez .

Private

In addition to being related to Robert Rodriguez, he is also related to actor Danny Trejo .
