Michael Parks (* 24. April 1940 in Corona , California as Harry Samuel Parks;9. May 2017 in Los Angeles , California) was an American actor , singer and film director .

Career

Michael Parks began in the early 1960s with small guest roles in various television series . In 1964 he got the role of Adam in The Bible . From 1969 to 1970, Parks played the title role in the Then Came Bronson series . For this he also recorded the title song Long Lonesome Highway and reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 . In the following years, Parks appeared mostly in television series and films . In 1979 he was seen in the action film Blast Command Atlantic .

In 1990 and 1991, Parks played the role of Jean Renault in the cult series Twin Peaks . In 1996 he played the character of Texas Ranger Earl McGraw for the first time in Robert Rodriguez ' From Dusk Till Dawn . He played the same role in the 2003 film Kill Bill and in 2007 in the films Death Proof and Planet Terror .

Since 2011, Parks has made several appearances in films by director and screenwriter Kevin Smith . For example, he took on leading or important supporting roles in Red State and Tusk . His oeuvre encompasses a total of around 140 productions.

The son of Michael Parks, James Parks , is also an actor and played in the films From Dusk Till Dawn , Kill Bill and Death Proof - Deadly (at the side of his father) as well as in Robert Rodriguez's machete the son of the Texas Ranger, namely Deputy Edgar McGraw .
