The Adventures of Brigsby Bear (Original title: Brigsby Bear ) is an American tragic comedy by Dave McCary , which celebrated its world premiere on January 23, 2017 as part of the Sundance Film Festival , where it was shown in the US Dramatic Competition.

The Adventures of Brigsby Bear is a television show for children with exactly one viewer: James. When the show suddenly stops, James realizes that everything he thought he knew about life was a lie. He has to learn to come to terms with the realities of a new world, and he sets out to end the story himself.

Directed by Dave McCary . It is in Brigsby Bear is the first feature film, directed the Director McCary. The script was written by Kevin Costello and Kyle Mooney .
Mooney also starred in the film as James Pope. Mark Hamill plays Ted Hope, Claire Danes plays Clare, and Andy Samberg stars as Eric. Matt Walsh played Greg Pope and Greg Kinnear played Detective Vogel.
Filming and film music
The shooting took place in Salt Lake City , Utah , in the summer of 2016 , and was scheduled for July 19 to August 23, 2016. A desert area and suburbs were required for the filming, according to Mooney, which were present in Utah. In addition, the state of film production offered a tax incentive. Other locations were the Bonneville Salt Flats , the area around the Smith and Morehouse Reservoir on the upper reaches of the Weber River in the west of the Uinta Mountains and a campsite located there.
The score was composed by David Wingo . The soundtrack for the film was released for download on July 28, 2017 by Lakeshore Records.

The film premiered on January 23, 2017 as part of the US Dramatic Competition of the Sundance Film Festival , where Sony Pictures Classics secured the worldwide exploitation rights for Brigsby Bear . In May 2017 the film was presented at the Cannes International Film Festival as the closing film of the Semaine internationale de la critique. Also in May 2017, Brigsby Bear was shown in the New American Cinema section of the Seattle International Film Festival . From June 8th 2017 the film was shown at the Sydney Film Festival . Also in June 2017, the film was presented at the Shanghai International Film Festival , where it was competing for the Golden Goblet Award, and at the Munich Film Festival . The film was released in selected US cinemas on July 28, 2017. The film was shown at the Zurich Film Festival in late September and early October 2017 . The film was screened at the London Film Festival in October 2017 and released in cinemas in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2017. The film was released on March 8, 2018 in German stores on DVD and Blu-ray.
