Emily Gordon (2012)

Emily V. Gordon (born May 3, 1979 in Winston-Salem , North Carolina ) is an American screenwriter and executive producer .

Gordon's career began in 2012 for the series Power Up , for which she wrote the script. In addition to other episode scripts, she wrote the screenplay for The Big Sick with her husband Kumail Nanjiani , for which they were nominated for an Oscar in 2018 in the category “ Best Original Screenplay ” . Both Gordon and Nanjiani were also appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that same year , which awards the Oscars annually.
