Zoe Lister-Jones (* 1. September 1982 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Zoe Lister-Jones grew up as the only child of the video artist Ardele Lister and the art photographer Bill Jones . As a four-year-old child, Ardele Lister recorded her in the video Zoe's Car , which was presented to the public as a work of art. She trained as an actress at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School . In 2004 she was seen in a larger role in the comedy Nausea II , as well as in the show Codependence is a Four Letter Word . After several guest roles in television series and appearances in short films, she took on one of the leading roles in the comedy Arranged (2007), which received several awards from the Brooklyn International Film Festival .

In the film drama Turn the River (2007) Lister-Jones played opposite Famke Janssen . The Marconi Bros. comedy starring Lister-Jones in one of the bigger roles was released in 2008.

Lister-Jones had her first leading role in a television series from 2009 to 2010 in the series Delocated . Her next leading role was alongside Whitney Cummings on NBC sitcom Alex and Whitney - Sex Without Marriage from 2011 to 2013 . This was followed by a leading role in Friends with Better Lives in 2014 and a recurring role in New Girl in 2015 . Since 2015 she can be seen in the comedy series Life in Pieces as Jen Short .

Zoe Lister-Jones is married to filmmaker Daryl Wein, with whom she has been in a relationship since 2004.
