Susan Froemke

Susan Froemke (born November 5, 1947 ; also: Susan Frömke ) is an American film producer and documentary filmmaker .

Life

Susan Froemke started her career as a producer and editor on the documentary Gray Gardens , which was inducted into the National Film Registry in 2010 . In her career she mainly produced documentaries for cinema and television. She made her directorial debut in 1985 with Ozawa under the conductor Seiji Ozawa .

In the course of her career she was able to win several prizes. She won an Emmy for each of the documentaries Vladimir Horowitz - The Last Romantic ( 1987 ), Soldiers of Music ( 1991 ) and Abortion: Desperate Choices ( 1992 ). In 1993 she received two CableACE Awards for the latter . In 2002 he received a Grammy Award for recording 'The Producers': A Musical Romp with Mel Brooks from the Great Performances series .

At the 2002 Academy Awards , Lalee's Kin: The Legacy of Cotton received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary .
