Peter Dinklage
Peter Hayden Dinklage ( June 11, 1969 in Morristown , New Jersey ) is an American film and stage actor .

Peter Dinklage is the younger of two sons of a German-born insurance agent and an Irish-born music teacher at a primary school. He has achondroplasia - a form of short stature in which the trunk is fully developed, but arm and leg bones are shortened. Dinklage is 1.35 m tall, while his older brother and parents are average height.
Dinklage attended Bennington College in Bennington , Vermont , which he left in 1991 with a degree in acting . He then moved to London and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . Dinklage also studied at the Welsh School of Music and Drama in Cardiff .
In November 2004 Dinklage announced his engagement to the theater director Erica Schmidt , whom he married on April 15, 2005. They have two children together.
Since 2012 Dinklage has acted as a spokesman for the animal welfare organization Farm Sanctuary . Dinklage is a vegetarian and was voted one of PETA's “Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities” in 2012. He has been vegan since the beginning of 2014 . In April 2014, PETA released the video Face your food (dt. Show your food in the face ), which was produced in collaboration with Dinklage.
Career
In 1995 Dinklage made his debut as a film actor in the drama Living in Oblivion directed by Tom DiCillo . He became known to a larger audience through his leading role in Station Agent (2003). He also appeared in the 13 episodes of Nemesis - The Attack between 2005 and 2006 , was in Nip / Tuck seven times in 2006 and played himself in an episode of the series Entourage . In 2008, Dinklage was featured for the first time in a blockbuster movie in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian of Narnia , the second film in the Chronicles of Narnia .
From 2011 to 2019 he worked in the US series Game of Thrones on HBO with an adaptation of George RR Martin's fantasy saga A Song of Ice and Fire . Dinklage achieved great recognition with his role Tyrion Lannister : In 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2019 he received an Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama series and in 2012 the Golden Globe Award for best supporting actor in a series or TV film. Because of his performance and popularity, Dinklage has been listed as the lead actor since the second season of the series.
In 2012 Dinklage spoke the character Captain Gutt in the film Ice Age 4 , in 2013 he was seen in the role-playing horror comedy Knights of Badassdom (which was filmed in 2010) . In 2014 he starred alongside Robin Williams in the comedy The Angriest Man in Brooklyn and in Bryan Singer's superhero film X-Men: Future is Past with. In April 2014 Peter Dinklage also shot the feature film Taxi in Hamburg , a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Karen Duve . Dinklage lent his voice to the Ghost drone for the video game Destiny , which went on sale in autumn 2014 .
For several years Dinklage worked with the director and author Sacha Gervasi on a television film about the short actor Hervé Villechaize , who committed suicide in 1993. Dinklage took on the title role. The film premiered on October 20, 2018 on HBO .
