Laps is about 18 kilometers southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . Laps is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Busséol in the north, Saint-Julien-de-Coppel in the east, Sallèdes in the southeast, Pignols in the south, Vic-le-Comte in the southwest and Saint-Maurice in the west.
