Veyre-Monton is a French municipality with 3542 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Veyre-Monton belongs to the Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand and the canton of Les Martres-de-Veyre (until 2015 chief town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Veyre-Monton ).

Veyre-Monton is located on the Veyre River , about 16 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . Veyre-Monton is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Orcet in the north, Les Martres-de-Veyre in the east, Corent in the south-east, La Sauvetat in the south, Tallende in the west and south-west and Le Crest in the north-west.

The A75 autoroute as well as the former Route nationale 9 and Route nationale 678 run through the municipality .
