Pont-du-Château is a French commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in central France with 11,441 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Pont-du-Château is located 15 km east of Clermont-Ferrand , the capital of Auvergne, and about 380 km south of Paris . The Allier , the largest tributary of the Loire , runs through Pont-du-Château.

Despite the inclusion of six industrial and craft areas (Champ-Lamet, Paulhat, La Varenne, Le Mortaix, Le Petit Champ, La Lissandre), the city has many green spaces.
